| History WLA 42 750cc
Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me track down a previous owner of the wla 42 I own. The bike came from England early 2000's it has "Wheelwise Engineering" 16inch chrome rims, but rest is standard army trim. It has not been restored to any great extent but the guards and tank are painted a dark "plum" colour, it still has touches of green paint under the seat and on the engine cases. The speedo cowl is chromed but the chrome is very old and rough. The fuel tap rod must have packed it in because it had been cut off at the top and a brass petcock installed. The story goes that the bike was brought or fixed up to be used in either a stage play or movie, then shipped to New Zealand by one of the stage crew who had bought it after the show had ended. I know this is a little long winded, but if you don't ask............. |

the dark plum colour paint over green would be typical for a bike that had been through Pride & Clarke. apart from that, with no numbers or history it's difficult to see what information anyone could offer |

I think the petcock conversion was in fashion for a while in the 70s and 80s - bit of a nightmare to correct if someones modified the tank to do it. There used to be a kit with a petcock and blanking plate for the tank top I hear. |
