Float spring

Hi all,

I discovered whilst trying to get my bike running, that the mechanic I gave it to to time the engine, did not put the float spring back in place. I wonder if this may be stopping it from fireing up?

Do any of you guys have one you would sell to me? The carb is a bendix.

1978xlh suggested I fit a CV carb. By chance I have one that came of a Suzuki 250. I have a friend who is a great engineer and would be able to make me a bracket to attach it to the maifold. With the correct jets do you think I could use this on my Ironhead?

Thanks in advance,

Andy.

Re: Float spring

Andy,

I would doubt if the Suzy carb would be up to the job. I'll look in my box of bits tomorrow night and see if I have the Bendix spring though. If I haven't, you could try these guys;

If the spring is missing there'll probably be fuel pissing everywhere as the Bendix doesn't have a gasket to seal the bowl to the carb.
