Linkert M prob

Trying to get my 74" chief fired up with correct refurbed Linkert, to no avail .
Not able to prime it for some reason got fuel to bowl but no amount of kickin/full choke/full throttle,is drawing any fuel in.
Intake/ plugs are dry, have checked nozzle is not blocked.

any thoughts welcomed

Re: Linkert M prob

As you know, when kicking with full choke, the engine vacuum will draw fuel up the nozzle. If there is fuel in the bowl (correct level) and the nozzle is clear and fuel isn't being drawn, then there is a 'vacuum' problem. Check by putting you hand over the carb inlet while kicking to see if there is a suck......I would be looking for manifold air leaks. Also look and see that the carb bowl vent is clear because you are relying on air being drawn through the whole system.
Failing the above, get to the top of a big hill

You may have seen this but it's worth making for hard to find manifold leaks. This one takes an air line but you can use a tyre valve and hand pump with gauge.Use 10-15 PSI and suds round the nuts.
I think the fuel tube had an extra hole for Indian models so maybe the bottom one is lower and the Harley one wouldn't drawer fuel.

Thanks, not going to be shocked if i have manifold air leaks, useful tool that dave might have to make one up.

Sorted the lack priming now tho, usually the simplest thing!

Helps if the nozzle is aligned correctly (flat/holes to inlet side)
Gave it a few kicks still no joy , so covered inlet with latex glove nother few kicks fuel pours out
Now better sort a fire extinguisher

Re: Linkert M prob

Update
Sod all to do with nozzle flat alignment, flat can sit anywhere.
Venturi not aligned, so nozzle nose has no protrusion into intake

nicely refurbished carb..not
