| panhead rocker stud part # 17647-48
have just had one of these shear off only available in packs of 8, anybody got a spare one or more usefully know what grade of steel I need to use to make up a replacement |

Ordinary mild steel (BS 970 070M20 or EN3) should be ok as it's not load bearing. If you want to go stronger, EN16 (605m36) in T grade is ideal for bolts. You'll need good quality dies to cut it though |

What I usually do is buy a bolt with the correct thread for one end and enough plain portion under the head for the final (protruding) stud length, cut off head and thread as required (hard work though). This should ensure you have the correct material. |
