Re: want to put Mikuni on shovel

I've just put a Keihin CV on mine Andy, but I paid £30 quid for it. Got a range of jets from Allens (one size up and one size down as well as the recommended baseline of 190/50) and modified my S&S air cleaner backplate to fit. I used one of these adaptors for the S&S manifiold as it had a 'B' originally Harley CV Carb Flange Shovelhead/Sportster:eBay Motors (item 140326559911 end time Jun-19-09 10:04:04 PDT) and had to modify the throttle cable.

They really rate the CV on Jakaroo's Shovelhead USa - Harley Shovelhead Source - tech tips, pictures and more! and there's loads of info in their tech forum.

Hi Andy,
There's a mikuni on ebay at the moment if you haven't already seen it.
Hope this helps.

Re: want to put Mikuni on shovel

Hi Andy,

I went down the Mikuni route on my '81 but then i was lucky to have one just hanging around, not yet fitted but looks pretty straight forward.

RE looking for a cv have you got any friendly independendents in the local area, they are bound to have some CV's hanging around.

Good luck and let us know how it is running. As Phatawacka says Jackaroo's shovel site really rate the CV, just make sure that the Thunderslide/ dyno jet is not fitted as this will not work with a shovel

regards

Andy
