Anyone read this ---What Fits What

What Fits What on Harley-Davidson 1936-1983 Models

by Mike Arman and Kurt Heinrichs
This manual is a guide to parts interchangeability and high performance engine modification for Harley-Davidson V-twins. It covers all models from the mid-1930s up to and including 1983. It tells you which square pegs fit into what round holes, or how to make them do so with minimum pain. This book will enable you to build a motorcycle from a stack of more-or-less unrelated parts. It will also assist you in building your motorcycle for the greatest amount of power, the most reliability, or somewhere in between. This book can save you a tremendous amount of time, complications, and money.
Sftbd., 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 in., 80 pp., 50 illus

Looking for info mainly on Ironheads, just a wondering if this book is any good.

What i really want is something that gives specs for all Ironheads ref -engine and Gearbox details ie- cams - valves -pistons - comp ratio's.

I've sent off for the two CDs that were mentioned in another post.(just realised that the postage is for Yankee land only so i'm not sure my $1-95 postage will see them flying here in a hurry )

Cheers

Re: Anyone read this ---What Fits What

I have the 6th Edition, which is 1983.

It is much lighter on Sporty's than big twins, but does answer most of your points in terms of interchangeability, and hotrodding motors.

Let me know if you need just that section - I might be able to PM you something helpful.....

(obviously not scan the pages, as that would infringe copyright).
