fuel pump tank on Ironhead..also speedo issue

Hi
I have got hold of a fantastic looking black black fuel tank I which to make fit on to my 1980 Ironhead Bobber.
However it is off a soft tail chopper and has the fuel pump in place, can this be modified to use as a standard tank? leave pump in place to fill the hole and not have it running? I want to use the dash that came with it also, along with indicator and head light / main main warning lights on the dash and fuel gauge on tank.
Is this possible? or am I being daft?

oh and if I want to use the digital speedo fitted, where will I get a sender? and where will it attach?

Pingle do a kit to convert EFI tanks fittings to take a Pingle petcock. You'd need the kit and a petcock: Harley-Davidson Accessories from Pingel Enterprise
I'm pretty sure you could re-use your stock petcock rather than pay for a Pingle petcock though.

Oh, the speedo pickup...Tricky. The pickup for that dash would originally have been at the back of the transmission and work off one of the cogs in there. You aren't going to find that on your bike.

You might have to look for an after-market speedo that's made for the hole and has a mechanical pickup.

Very, very nice looking project.

Tell you what air cleaner might look real nice on there and give you some more clearance between the A/C and the tank...

Pretty sure you could find one for an S&S carb (if that's what you have under there).

efi tanks have 1/4" npt threads

early harley fuel taps are 1/4" npt and fit straight on
