| parts suppliers in Florida
Anyone have any recommendations for HD parts suppliers in Florida, particularly Orlando, Kissimmee. Going over later in the year and apart from HD Dealers have little information about the independants.

Sure do. just got back with a bagful. If you want something **in stock today** Millers Custom Parts at 1863 South Ridgewood, Daytona Beach, is pretty unbeatable for a shop. They don't have to order much, they have it all in stock!! Been going 30 years, unbeatable knowledge behind the counter. And they *don't* jack their prices up for Bike Week. It's a treasure trove for browsing. Need Knucklehead gaskets? 1980 Sturgis decals? They got them right before your eyes. Warning: during Bike Week, it's like the first day of Harrods' sale, all week. I utterly recommend Daytona Beach 50 weeks a year, but not the other two...BW and Biketoberfest. http://www.millerscustomparts.us/ If you have a mailing address i.e. hotel , you can save even more by buying from www.mawonline.com, who are based near Orlando (NO SHOP). I picked up a pair of ProgSus shocks retailing here at £250 for £115. Had a slight problem with the shipping after changing hotels on a business trip and Motorcycle Accessories Warehouse went the extra mile and then some to get the stuff to me. Awesome service and prices - UTTERLY recommended. But phone and internet orders only. If you want the best prices, go to MAW (and buy a week before you arrive to give plenty of freight time) If you love to browse and have your tongue hang out, swing by Millers. B&S Cycle on North Orange Blossom Trail are also a good independent in Orlando. Pretty fair stock of parts, they did have a website but it no longer exists...I once phoned an order to them while at home here, and when I got off the plane it was all present and correct and waiting for me. So if you haven't good time to go 70 miles across to Millers, try them B&S Cycle Parts 6648 No. Orange Blossom Tr. Orlando, FL 32810 Tel: 407-522-0606 E-mail: sales@hawgparts.com |

Thanks for that, we go over in October. We didn't choose the date for Biketoberfest but it happens to be slap bang in the middle of the 2 weeks. As we are travelling with some olds we thought it a great opportunity to leave the boy(7 years) with them and for me and the wife to go to Daytona. That said the more I see of it the more I have reservations, seems like its full of 50 year old women in leather thongs, great if you're a 60 year old swinger, but not perhaps for me.

BikeWeek or Biketober, it's just a crowded clusterfuck of brand new £50,000 bikes, TRAILERS TRAILERS TRAILERS and poseurs, and highly-inflated beer and hotel prices. I wouldn't do either again personally but to each their own and your mileage may vary, etc, etc......guess you gotta try it once. On the other hand, I hung out on Main St a week ago Sunday and it was a real joy. Lots of locals, some nice old bikes, and plenty of space to chat and ogle cool rides. During Biketoberfest? Get out of town ............. to Iron Horse saloon and others on Rte 1 North at Ormond Beach, Cabbage Patch Farm south, or seek out primo old-style choppers bar Wills Honky Tonk (search on the net) - that's where you will see some great bikes and time-honoured fun like pumpkin slaw wrestling! Just my opinion. |
