Daytona Bike week

Anyone thinkin of going?

Always fancied going but never got there yet. I may be able to get some time off work and get over.

Maybe I've left it too late? Anyone got ideas of places to stay?

Re: Daytona Bike week

I've done Daytona Bike week twice, it's a real blast and worth doing at least once.

Personally, I wouldn't stay in Daytona for the whole week again, I was Harley'd out after about 3 days and had seen everything that was available.

My advice for what it's worth is to stay outside Daytona (cheaper and quieter) and drive in, park up.

There will be loads of accomodation within 5-10 miles of Daytona Beach even at the height of the lunacy I reckon you could find a room within that radius.

We stayed right on the beach the first time, the roar of the bikes starts at around 8-9am and goes on till 3-4am the following day, great for the first couple of days, but then it started to wear a bit thin.

Second time, stayed at myrtle beach and drove in and enjoyed it more.

You'll need to rent a car or bike to get around, local bike hire during bike week gets pricey.

Foods cheap and available 24-7 so don't bother about fancy B+B hotels.

Need to know anything else drop me a pm

Thanks guys but the original question was asked in Feb 2006 when I had a couple of bob.

These days I can just about afford a trip to Darlington, so Daytona is out of the question
