| Torx/Hex bits
Where can you buy torx and hex(AF) bits? I have tried local car parts store, two branches of Halfords ,B&Q and Homebase .Most sell the cheap L bar sets ,but none have the sockets.

Halfords do keep (or did) AF sockets. They will order for you.

Hey Sal Technically your best off buying the best you can afford, however in my experience Snap on and Mac tools are the best but bloody expensive and they still break like the average carrot if your not carefull Sh1te idea for a fixing method the Torx, only marginally better than the fixings on early jap stuff that had the properties of plastercine

Roddy, I agree with buying the best.....if you are serious about working on your bike BUT I will only be doing routine maintenance....and if I F**k it up the first time, I wont be doing it again .I may, if I do OK , build up a small set of good quality *essential* tools .

| Re: Torx/Hex bits The awkward size of Torx bit to get is the all elusive T27 which H-D are fond of. You will not find one in the Halfords Branded sets. I am at this very moment doing a Rubber Mount Sporty service, it's draining the oils, while I type. You need a T27 to get the clutch inspection cover off, where as the primary chain cover is a T25, Do Not be tempted to use the T25 instead of the T27 as you could well end up rounding off the head. A use the old coke bottle trick for the oil filter removal and save a lot of mess, thanks Forums. http://www.harley-davidson-hangout.c...plastic+bottle [ ![]() |
