Hi, I wonder if someone can point me in the right direction. Currently in the middle of major custom work on my softail and the guy I have entrusted with the work is at the point where I have to choose a suitable set of steel handlebars and specifically not chrome. So having looked through all the regular catalogues it seems steel bars are as rare as hens teeth. So can anyone point me in the right direction, somewhere in the south east would be good, in the Chichester would be bloomin marvellous but i'll settle for anywhere in the UK. |

Ring around all the dealers/Indy's they take them off bikes all the time when replacing them with chrome ones. Stadium H-D Walthamstow (Dog Track) swop meet east London next Sunday you will see loads. I have a stnd steel (2003) road king pair if you are interested.

Baza, thanks for the advice but think i'll pass on the Road Kings. Bruno, no you don't know me but we do have some tenuous links one of which is I seem to remember you im sure mentioned on here ages ago using Rich ex Surrey and ex DG 20 technician, who works out of Birdham and guess what he's currently undertaking major work on my Softail. So thanks for the recommend (assuming it was you) |

| Re: Steel not chrome handlebars Umm yeah, i recommend Rik to everyone, he`s the best Indy around. Known him for 26 years now, what he doesn`t know about bikes isn`t worth knowing. You will be pleased with his work. Now, let me guess, you must be an ex-Marine?

Bruno, Yep very pleased so far, he's very knowledgable but as importantly a really nice chap to boot. He fitted my Mikuni a while back after Andy (Strawhead) also recommended him. The bike is currently in bits at his workshop as he's chopped and extended it, a few more months work yet until it's completed but hope to have it in time for summer. Yep very perceptive, ex bootie, but some twenty years and five stones passed since then |

Hey Spicer I have had a set of RK bars on the sporty for while now, I originally picked up on a post from ST who said they worked well. Was looking for bars that were not quite so high as those fitted. I have been well pleased with the job.
