Looks ok to me Baza, as an alternative, how about a wide rack that clips into the detachable mounts? You can alway detatch the whole shebang when you get to your rally site. It would stop stuff scuffing up the pannier lids. I know that the Moco say stuff like "do not put more than 10lbs" sort of warning messages on the luggage they ship out but i reckon you could probably make up something from bits of mounting hardware and rack stuff (something like the side of a Morrisons shopping trolley perhaps. Whilst i know this probably paints a pretty horrid picture in your minds eye it may be worth having a think about an option like this.
i suppose the gear you carry is tent/roll mat etc so no sharp objects to trash the paintwork.
Just a thought.

Second thought, forget all that otherwise it will end up looking like a servicar.
