US dealers

Just in case it's useful....just had two deliveries from M & M Cycles in Ohio got stung for duty but still worked out at £1300 worth of shiny bits for a grand total of £800.

Good response to E mails although did take some two weeks to arrive which is twice as long as J&P Motorcycles who I have used in the past.

The big difference being M&M supply genuine Harley parts.

Not a recommend just for info.

Re: US dealers

Yep, I can thoroughly recommend M&M - they are nice folks and have occasional sales on kuryakyn which are a helluva deal.

Mark will also adjust shipping charges on a big order to help (reduce) the overall cost. Shipping has taken a wee while sometimes from them though.

Zanotti are generally cheaper (than M & M) for HD Genuine in my experience - their shipping can run slightly pricey but very quick

Ask for John in Parts and say Dave Walker mentioned him.

Cheers

Dave

Yeah...M & M Cycles...that's who I use. I don't bother looking anywhere else now.

As a matter of interest did you try Guernsey H-D? If you did how did the all-up costs compare?

Re: US dealers

I ordered a largish order of Genuine H-D parts form www.discountbiker.com, it was all new stock. I had to wait a week for two of the items to be dispatched from Milwaukee. {I know it was new as H-D parts labels mostly have the manufacture date on them.}

With all the Shipping, duty, collection fees etc. paid my order was over £75 less than the Guernsey price and lot bigger saving on the UK price.

If you manage to avoid paying the duty you would save even more, which does seem to be getting less likley these days.

The bigger the order the bigger the saving , that said though small orders don't save so well or at all compared to Guernsey with the free postage.

This is due to some of the fees being the same for big or small order, eg duty collection fees and handling fees.

Another point to note is Guernsey is a UK Dealer and as such you get the full UK warranty where as in the USA most warranty is limited to just 90 days.

Yeah Battersea I did, I used the Guernsey web site H-D catalogue in order to get a firm price before deciding to go to M&M. Its their prices I have used when I quote my saving.

Dear Mr. Neck sah!
Was in Ricks yesterday, your bike is beautiful, it`s got such a perfect stance, even with suspension both ends. None of my goddamed business but, you just have to have Classic flames on that tank when its painted!
Yours very impressed, Bruno.

Many thanks for the compliments, just wish I could take some of the credit, but apart from the bank balance it's all down to Ric and his advice.

Andy (Strawhead) got me thinking recently that maybe the rake needs to be greater and I have considered purchasing some raked triple trees to increase it.
I suspect for the sake of £400-500 extra I may for this summer stick with it as it is and then if I think it needs extending i'll save the pennies for next winter.

Having seen it what are your thoughts?

Re: US dealers

I think its perfect the way it is, definately no more rake required as it sits perfectly and i should think it will handle just fine with what you have. It`s amazing how symetrical it is, but you still have the soft-tail incorporated, you could say from side view that it is the perfect triangle concept which everyone strived to achieve back in the 70`s.
Leave well alone. Maybe i`d fit fatbob tanks but certainly change nothing else. I guess it has to be black, but you gotta have a flame job too!
My bike will be keeping it company for a few days next week so maybe they`ll have a chat and swop some ideas. Good luck with it and i hope to see it finished soon. ;)
