Different?

Got this through the e-mail today.
A different slant (roll?) on a boring but necessary accessory?
Now, wonder if they do it in chrome: if so, expect to see it for 10 times the price in next year's P&A....
The lug looks a bit prone to fracturing to me, especially if it's a boneshaking early model...

NEW CNC machined, cylindrical, waterproof motorcycle tax disc holders. Made from billet aluminium, colour anodised. These tax disc holders use stainless steel fasteners and rubber o-rings which creates a waterproof and corrosion resistance seal.
Available in Black or Silver.

Re: Different?

Are they legal? I'd hate to have something that was against the law. Some people here I have been told ride around with DOT helmets from the USA and have small number plates and off road only exhausts.

Personally I still use the same old tax disc holders that have been around for years all I do in case of theft is put a laser copied and then laminated disc in the holder and keep the original in my wallet being laminated it's waterproof.

Re: Different?

I think the original ones look better personally. Nice idea of Bazas but you can also seal the whole thing with silicone to keep the elements out

The vehicle licence (tax disc) explained

Any vehicle used or kept on a public road in the United Kingdom is required, by law, to display a valid vehicle tax disc. A tax disc (also referred to as a vehicle licence or car tax) shows that you have paid the necessary vehicle tax (or vehicle excise duty) for your vehicle.

If it's displayed, and readable, then it's legal.
Mind you, with folks riding about with £55 holders, they are going to be a most atteractive nickable item. Who wants the tax disc if the holder's worth 11 month's tax!

On the other hand, displaying a laser printed copy, however sensible it may be, is illegal, and having the real one in your pocket is not a defence...
