Winter fuel additive

I bought some a couple of weeks back and the guy who recommended it also said that it was available in chemists and a lot cheaper. Anyone know what it actually is because it doesn't say on the bottle.

Cheers

P.S. Not that I'm expecting to need any for a while..... fingers crossed

Re: Winter fuel additive

IMHO, fuel additives are mainly a crock of shite. Fuels are normally reformulated at different times of the year to account for differences in weather, etc. The only thing additives do is put money into the pockets of the scammers who make them.

Re: Winter fuel additive

I don't know how Harley get away with selling the additives without stating what the contents are.

Imagine if a kid swallows some the hossi won't know WTF they have taken. VERY against UK rules and regs.

However I buy 100% alcohol from the chemist which is called 'ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL'
This I put into my tank as I run with a carb. Winter only for helping the carb not to freeze. As for as the other stuff they sell who knows?

Re: Winter fuel additive

I have had carb'd EVO's before. 3 degrees and under, they coughed, wheezed and stopped unless I used an additive. However, since I have had the TC injection I have had no need to use any additives.

I have a carbed TC and it definitely makes an improvement. I'd rather whack it in and not keep stalling than do without. Whatever is in it, it works.

I agree, I was very surprised that it wasn't stated what is inside the pack although there is a general caution and a 'Keep away from children' note. That's probably the stuff I need Baza, will give it a go next time. Cheers

Baza how much of that do you drink and how much goes in the tank? Seriously though how many ml's do you put in a 5 gal tank?
