misfire solved

i've had a problem for the last six months or so, that whenever its wet, my sporty runs like a pig. misfires, running on one cylinder, etc.
i went to two dealers and three independants, all of who came up with different ideas.
after changing the plugs twice, the leads once and the coil, nothing solved it and i was starting to contemplate getting rid because it was that bad.
this weekend i was doing a service and thought i would clean and oil the air filter.
completely sorted! ive been riding all over the weekend in heavy rain and not one missed beat! thing is, not one mechanic suggested this, even though the dealer said it was carb icing and sold me some treatment in a bottle.
so if you have wet weather running problems, try cleaning your filter, it could save you a shed load of cash for the outlay of £13!

Re: misfire solved

To go to 1340 you have to have the crankcases machined to fit a longer stroke crank. Awful lot of work for 150cc's. Why take the engine that far apart when you don't have to.

Re: misfire solved

What about a 1250 conversion? A lot of the guys on a *ahem* different forum seem to recommend it. NHRS do a complete bolt on kit.
