Onlt had one 'dealing' with them, involving an 8 hour round trip to see a piece of rusty shyte that was described as 'showroom' condition.

Once bitten twice shy.

Re: Surrey Harley-Davidson

we had exactly the same up here a few years ago.
it wasn't due to poor performance quite the opposite, but the group that owned big rock was taken over by rbs and they decided they dont do bikes just cars.
now its all gone and is a whacking great heath centre.

but the sour taste it left will last for a very long time, one week all over you the greatest thing since sliced bread then all gone in the wink of an eye, never been to warr's but I gather he's independent and despite mocco remains such for the love of it.
Its part of the philosophy for the dealers to suck up so much as Dave say wet nurse and have you believe in some corporate Nirvana.
its all bullshit just designed to extract cash from your back pocket.
they dont give a hoot about anything at all
good riddance.

That's the trouble, you have to be able to stake a fortune on fullfilling your franchise contract with H-D (Think of the stock, fixtures, fittings etc. you have to cough up for in order to project the corporate image) Only car groups can do that, so of course they don't care. Pendragon were notorious in the motor trade for their attitude. I have a feeling that more of the shiny new dealerships will go down the pan when people realise they are all surface and no depth. They pay shit money too so how can they keep staff? £14.000 p/a for an experienced parts person?? Still, better for the independents

After a year of ownership I had to take the bike back, with badly pitted wheels and peeling/bubbling paint, and the same suited tw@t , tried to convince me the best thing to do was to buy chrome aftermarket wheels and tins/paint & fittings,(to stand up to the English winters), -at my own expense.

I still am on good terms with a one of the service boys (no longer there), but these good guys are eclipsed by the "MoCo suits" who once the've taken a good wedge, set there talons in to fleece you for all you've got.

I've not been in.(for five years) nor do I intend to go in to any "dealership" ever again. I've even resisted temptation to buy a new bike (even with the free h0g membership), as a personal way of saying FTF.
I know I'm not the only one who feels like this, and if Surrey are anything like W@rz- well good riddance.

Re: Surrey Harley-Davidson

Three years ago We went to a well known West London Land Rover dealer to buy a new Range Rover, knew what we wanted & got a good price they treated us well, gave us coffee etc, so I paid the "suit"-cash.---- Then he tells me "that there'd be at least a two month wait to get a vehicle to the spec we wanted."

After threatening to decapitate the little b@5t@rd, the manager came out and arranged us use brand new zero mile company fleet RR. with insurance all covered for free.- untill delivery of our car. (which was three nonths , in the end,)

-Now thats good customer service, I just can't ever see any MoCo dealer ever doing anything like that. and they gave the Ol'Lady flowers as well.

The prospect of decapitation would probably get a positive response from even a H-D dealer, especially if he thought you meant it

Re: Surrey Harley-Davidson

I like surrey, they know their shit and do a good deal.
i know it's not the club line of all dealers are shit etc but hey they did one ell of a quote on a 6 speed box and oil coiler bet than any northern dealer I've been to - and like i've said they know their stuff, then again I've got a stroker not your normal run of the mill factory shit, so I only deal people who walk the walk ie not st leger, robin b'stars or eddie w*****

PS what the fcuk have rocket 3s got to do with HD, the original Rocket 3 was made by BSA and not Triumph anyway

So much shite such a lttle a site that all one can say
