Re: help needed 1340 advice

Looks good and price sounds good with that mileage. any chance of having a look at the doc's and giving the previous owner a ring.

Re: help needed 1340 advice

The mileage is really low for the year, and is much more important than the outright age of the bike. From the pictures it looks REALLY classy, sorta like the bike you would buy off the peg if the factory made one. The spares situation for Evos is superb and there are no serious reliability probs to concern you.

If it has taken your heart, then go for it with a smile!

Re: help needed 1340 advice

thats all what i wanted to hear! i was gonna take a softtail heitage out for a test too, but it was nearly £10k, so this one was more in my budget. i walked back into the dealer with the biggest grin on my face! it was such a buzz compared to my 883! felt similar to ride, but so much shove!
i just wanted to make sure there wasnt any serious problems with these bikes.
cheers
dan

Re: help needed 1340 advice

'94 problems? There are none.

That's probably the Low Rider. Evo Dynas don't fetch a whole lot second-hand because everyone tends to go for the Twin Cam version now. Hence ''old'' (snicker) bike at low price at dealership.

the miles are absurdly low and actually you are getting a (cosmetically) customised bike for not a lot of money.

If you really like the look of all that black (someone was obviously inspired by the Night Train) I think it's a steal. Saves you a lot of dosh.

And as noted, the Harrison brakes, etc, indicate a smart previous owner. Albeit not one who rode it a lot - that is YOUR JOB!

Re: help needed 1340 advice

Dan, my experience is that you NEVER find the right Harley; IT finds YOU!

Can only agree with previous posts, for that kind of money you're unlikely to find anything better, and if it's what, as you say, you've been looking for, GO FOR IT!

Agree with KD, there are NO known problems. Bear in mind that by '94, you're 10 years into Evo production; any niggles would have been sorted by now. And with that mileage, it's only just bedded in!

Enjoy it; BTW, I'm guessing that's the Towcester dealership?

Re: help needed 1340 advice

it is towcester hd.
its all gone pete tong now though! none of the finance companies will touch the bike as its over ten years old! madness!
so now my options lie with a newer bike, so im back over there tomorrow to check out a few newer models, they have a few dynas and a rather nice softail heritage in my price range, its just a shame because that dyna was a very nice looking bike, but i guess thats the way it goes sometimes!
i'll update on bikes tomorrow.

Re: help needed 1340 advice

Think lateral, mate

Get a personal loan for ''home improvements'' or ''newer car''

No one gives a toss once they send the cheque - they just want your repayments.

AVOID specific motor finance firms. And don't pay more than 7% APR.

Go to www.moneysavingexpert.com for best rates on personal loans and that bike could be yours by morning. Long as your credit history and wage is OK. A lot of finance houses have phonelines open til 10pm.
