help needed 1340 advice- now softail standard 06 joy!

i made the mistake of going into my local dealer today and saw a bike that i liked the look of. took it for a test and was hooked! it pulls sooooo much better than an 883 sporty! its a 1340 evo m reg, based on a dyna glide. its got billet 6pot front brakes and billet rear, progressive suspension shocks, powder coated engine and gearbox, alarm and imobiliser, very nice sounding pipes, plus a few other bits and bobs, and a full history. its done 9900 miles and is in very good condition. they are asking £6400, is that a good price? i dont know much about big twins and have heard some stories about older HDs going wrong.
i tried to post a pic but i cant rotate it!
i have started the finance process off, but i need to know if im making a mistake!

If it's what it says it is it sounds OK .... Bottom line is we all take some degree of risk in buying a bike. You got to go for it somtimes Maybe we have sombody local who can look at it before you sign on the line .

Re: help needed 1340 advice

Nice looking bike mate. Looks like someone has done loads of powder coating and work generally. Sorted brakes , shocks etc. Is the motor still stock? Price seems good, might be able to haggle if it is a dealer as it is not standard and has no chrome.

Re: help needed 1340 advice

Bought my 92 model FXRS Conv 2 years ago with 11500 miles and 2 previous owners. Think the bike was standard apart from stage 1. Paid 6500 for it. (I think!! age is a terrible thing y'know makes yer memory go)

Great bike!!!;)

Re: help needed 1340 advice

the best bit is its pretty close to how i think a harley should look so i wont have to spend to much in making it how i like it! still, im sure that wont be the way for long!!!!
ive decided to have it, just depends on the finance going through now! they said its nearly too old for hp so it looks like a black horse personal loan!
plllllleeeeeeaaaassssseeeee mr bank manager!

Re: help needed 1340 advice

My experience is that if somebody has put that much time & effort into sorting their bike (& it looks beautiful), they usually haven`t stinted on the mechanicals or maintenance.
If you feel like a million bucks on it then that is what it is worth to you
