Re: A dealer's perspective - life at Oxford H-D

2008 models.

Just to let you all know that we'll have the '08 launch stock on view from August Bank Holiday weekend - but we'll only be open on the Saturday that weekend - and demo's from 1st September.

The only new model we'll have initially will be the Nightster. The Fat Bob's due in September and the new Rocker will be with us in November.

Cheers

So the grand 2008 range launch weekend won't in fact be a weekend, but just the Saturday, & there wont be all the whole range of bikes there, or most of them, but just the new Sportie.
Sorry John but a hundred mile round trip for a morning at a dealership to see one new bike,- isn't going to tempt me from going to football instead, (& I support Palace so it there wasnt much keepin' me away).

Need to change the number of posts you can view on a page, I see!

But your thoughts occurred to me as well.

To be truthful LV, it's a bit disappointing to us too. To be fair, right from the launch of these bikes, we were told that the Dyna wasn't going to be available before September, and the Softail until November.

Our Launch Weekend is 1st and 2nd September, and our demo's will be ready for then. As I understand it, that's when most other dealerships are having their launches as well.

John

Couldn't disagree more. How else can the consumer (us) contructively engage with the suppliers of our chosen products (dealers)? This forum is FULL of posts slagging off main dealers. It's not unreasonable to offer the opportunity to put the alternative point of view, which John does IMHO. If any forum member can't bear to read the thread, they don't have to.... However, I notice that the thread has been read 3,500 times so far, which speaks for itself.

That's why it's still here. John has respected our rules and as you say, it's interesting to hear a dealer perspective.

Couldn't agree more, thats exactly what I was doing.

There have been many posts "slagging off" dealerships, with some justification.

When I bought my new bike I was given all the same promises I've heard recently. As soon as I'm out of the showroom they didnt want to know me.So I could be forgiven for being a tad sceptical with what has been going on for 11 pages.Sort of sticks in the throat a bit.I got the message early on in Johns posts,he may well be true to his word, but I need more convincing that the HD brand has started to care.

Just my opinoin mind!

"If any forum member cant stand to read the thread ..they dont have to"

but then I wouldnt be able to see your "point of view"
