I'm enjoying all the speculation!

I'm sorry guys. I'm not trying to pad this out, but there's a genuine reason why I can't tell you just now, but I will on Monday.

Re: A dealer's perspective - life at Oxford H-D

Well, as a former colleague rang me on Friday evening and told me where I was going, the cat is clearly out of the bag, so here goes.

Dockgate 20 Harley-Davidson in Southampton.

Long commute - 64 miles each way - but I'm going back to work for the guy who first gave me the Sales Manager's job at Oxford, and then promoted me to DP. DG20's had a lot to deal with over the last year, including the tragic death of their No.1 salesman last summer, but I hope that I'll be able to make a difference down there.

Anyways, off to Carlisle this morning to see my daughter and grandchildren, so I'll pick up with you all again on Easter Monday.

I operate a very simple philosophy at Oxford. Yes, I have a more structured package in place for our HOG Chapter members, and I'm sure you'll understand why, but that doesn't mean we won't "have a deal" with anyone else.

So, I can't offer you all a specific, guaranteed level of discount, but will guarantee you a fair deal on parts, accessories, clothing AND workshop labour, and to a certain extent, the level will depend on the specific products you want to buy.

I'm sorry if this is a bit of a woolly answer, but if you want to give us a try, I'm sure you'll be pleased.

John
