insurance premium

I have a question about insurance premiums. Had an accident nearly 5 weeks ago through no fault of my own. The insurance is saying it won't affect my no claims bonus. Will it affect my premium? I hope not. Does anyone have any experience with this? If it does does it lapse after a couple of years?

Give me the name and telephone number of your insurance company and I'll ask

Re: insurance premium

That's v kind Baza, I'm v new to biking you know Just went to Madeira Drive in Brighton with a friend and we chatted to a biker who had been a biker for donkeys years and he had had accidents and apparently no it doesn't affect your premium if it's not your fault.

I was taking the mickey....

I thought the insurance company would be best people to ask rather than any of us.

Forgot to say in the first post sorry about your accident did you hurt yourself/damage bike much?

The biker is not necessary correct that's why it's best to ask the people that know (your insurers).

If one was to have lots of accidents and even if none of them was to be their fault the insurance company would and could class them as a **Bad Risk** Because you have to put into the application any previous claims over the last 3 or 5 years.

You don't necessarily know whether they have increased you premium because of it because they could just say it's gone up this year anyway.

They are always such nice people to do business with.....

I'm ok there's quite a lot of damage to the bike. It just takes so long.
