Another example of American arrogance. Haven't they screwed people over the years for using the HD loge etc? You think their "Law people" would have had a better idea.
What's next Durex wanting to patent the term "Nodder"...

I started my working life at Rolls-Royce. They guarded their name and trademark with zealous pride. I have a certain sympathy with any company with a famous name that others might try to cash in on.

Don't let us forget that H-D is the most successful franchisee of a trademark. It is what helps keep them in business and us supplied with new (hence secondhand) bikes!

They weren't guarding the HD name/logo, but a model name. Did Supermarine in the early sixties sue Triumph when they launched the MK1 Spitfire???

Did Rolls Royce sue footwear manufacturers Hi-Tec in the early eighties when they had a pair of trainers named Silver Shadow????

I rest my case M'Lud.....
