Thinking of selling my Harley

Ok so i've been thinking this for a while now.....
I bought it because i could and as i wanted a 2nd bike for my partner to go on the back. I love the sound of it every time i fire it up but the riding position / style isn't that well suited to me i think. I like being able to not hoon about everywhere at silly speeds but it's not a great 2 up bike which is what i bought it for. I keep thinking a CB1300 is the tool for 2 up and ofcourse a more familiar riding position. What do ya think?

It's a 1584cc, 06 FXSTC softail custom, black, stage one about 5 or 6 k miles i think.

What do you think it would be worth roughly??

If i sell it i will still keep the Buell and i consider that the best bike i have ever ridden by a long way!!

Since you only bought it late last year with 5,000 on the clock then it's probably worth roughly what you paid for it.

Re: Thinking of selling my Harley

You bought the wrong model, not the wrong manufacturer.

You were after a 2 up ride why on earth didn't you look at a Road King, the FXSTCustom always struck me as a bit of a handbag of a bike.

That said with the way RK's are viewed here a dealer should cut a decent deal on chopping the Softail in for a King.

I agree, either a RK or maybe a Fatboy would suit the ride you are after.

I've ridden a Road King down from Aberdeen to East Anglia and it was very good, I was very impressed

Gotta agree with the majority here. The RK sounds more in line with what you're looking for, for 2 up riding. Plus for the long hauls, it's going to be a more comfortable ride.

I would think any dealer would be willing to do a good one for you on swapping out.

Let us know what your decision is!

I think that if you consider the CB1300 an ideal tool for two up riding then perhaps a touring HD is not for you.
In my opinion the eGlide is the ultimate mile cruncher two up with kit. However I've never thought that touring HDs, like the Glide or the Road King, were comparable bikes to the CB1300. I would ride both the Honda and the King for as long a test as you can blag, with your lady on the back. Then you will know.

Re: Thinking of selling my Harley

Buy a new Buell Ulysses XB12XT.

Excellent two up & you can still hoon around on it one up.

Fantastic bikes.
