Anyone heard of COC papers?

I have one of my bikes up for sale at the moment and someone from Germany has asked abiout COC-Papers (Certificate of Conformity) which is apparently some form of Data sheet that shows a bike conforms to the eoropean community standards which apparently makes it easier to get approval to use in Germany.

Sounds a bit like SVA to me?

I did a bit of scouting around but most of the references I found where from sites that vaguely explained why they were necessary but not how to actually get them.

I think it's all a bit of a long shot to be honest but you never know!

Re: Anyone heard of COC papers?

if it's a custom bike then I suspect your SVA will cover it - check with the DVLA. If you look at some of the zodiac adverts you might notice a thing called TUV approval, it's the German equivalent of the BSI / SVA.

Re: Anyone heard of COC papers?

COC is available for all Harleys after 1999, like Yoffi says but ask Harley-Davidson Europe and they will be able to provide.

Re: Anyone heard of COC papers?

Cheers guys - looks like the bike has sold to a nice guy who's coming over from Germany to collect it & ride it home!

I'll check the VIN & send it to you John.

Now, If I can shift the other one as well you might just have a customer for something new!

Re: Anyone heard of COC papers?

Hi,

I've got a HD bike here in Portugal and need the COC papers as well, but the local HD branch in Lisbon charges 100 Euros plus VAT.....this is insane...

I thought this should be for free as some kind of after-sales service from HD.

The bike is a Road King Classic from 2005 and didn't come with a COC at the time.

VIN nr.: 5HD1FRW145Y650845

Can anybody help me out to get this document free or for less money?

Thanks
