| 1942 Wlc Had our Spring Gathering for Scottish Classic Motorcycle Club the other weekend, and this nice 1942 WLC turned up. Seems the guy bought it in Belgium or Holland for £6000, which seems a bargain to me. The owner was a member of VMCC, but when I suggested he might want to get some history from HDRCGB and maybe even join the club, he said, "I don't do one make clubs...". ![]() I would have bitten their hand off for six grand... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And one for those who like things other than Harleys as well... ![]() ![]()

| Re: 1942 Wlc very nice piece indeed. VMCC seems to have a lot of people who 'don't do one make clubs', really with an older bike, the one make club is either your spares scheme ( like the Vincent kiddies ) or it doesn't really have much to offer. I travel a lot and I can always find a local VMCC section, in UK at any rate, with a fairly busy section night ( 20 or 30 members ) and some sort of weekend programme of events in the spring to autumn. They have 10 times the membership of HDRCGB and it shows. I can do grasstrack racing, sprinting, trials, road runs in 3 sections within an hour's ride of home, the one thing they DON'T offer is getting legless in a field. They have some fairly specialised services ( tyres, transfers, drive belts and brake blocks ) and you can usually find SOMEONE to do any given thing, if you ask around. as for information, they have a library and a full-time librarian. I'd be very surprised if you couldn't find anything you wanted to know there, assuming that someone knows it that is. oddly enough, they don't have a forum on the webpage, although given the politics you can suffer from in a club that size that's probably no bad thing. |
