| Re: camping opinion Morning Music My mate has something similar to the self inflating one,he's got a bit of back trouble,is now investing in an inflatable. Iv'e never tried one,but i get on so well with my inflatable + a few beers ,dunno what the self inflating would be like on rough ground, they always look a bit thin to me. Would have thought a man of your age would be going B+B by now anyway ![]() Chill

| Re: camping opinion If you mean the 50 quid Thermarest ones, I say *NO* Way too pricey for the minimal comfort offered. Really. I now follow Dantheman's tip and buy 20 quid inflatable kingsize mattresses from Argos and the like. The cheaply made seams mean they dont last all that long, but the comfort is different class. It packs down small in my big waterproof kit bag with a12V mini inflation pump (also Argos) which has the plug snipped off and replaced by 50p alligator clips. Connect to bike battery on arrival. So easy ..... and what a great night's sleep......assisted by an intake of mashed and liquidised barley and hops, of course! ![]() |

| Re: camping opinion Had a thermarest for years. They are first class. Excellent in very cold winter conditions eg. Scotland in February. For light use ordinary air bed is fine. A good value product is on offer at Aldi at the moment for about £10. They have single and double size. |

| Re: camping opinion Very true, I've had two for about 20 years... still work like they're brand new. In that time (for family camping) I've lost count of the number of crappy air beds we've got through... and they're heavy and bulky too. OK, so a Thermarest costs a lot, but it'll always be there. As for comfort... it's camping, how much comfort do you need?!?

| Re: camping opinion Hello mate we met the other day. Get one of these it's the best airbed I have had very easy to use packs up small and I have never had back ache or anything on it - more comfy than bed at home if a bit narrow. Cheap as chips too. ![]()
