Re: Insurance Advice

Should do really as insurance companies will not pay out if they can find any excuse.

Most companies see the stage one still as standard. Ring them up as a cold enquiry and ask for a quote.

Re: Insurance Advice

Well chaps and lasses. Just phoned Carol Nash, who insure all my bikes, informed them of the 2 bikes I have that don't have std pipes etc. No charge. Good or what?

But give a mates name and post code same area as yours and say you're looking to buy so don't have reg number.
If they put any of your details in,the computer will cross ref and they'll know you're already insured.

Re: Insurance Advice

Carol Nash are good, been with them for two years now since Bennets tried to charge me 100% of my premium again when I stuck a stage 1 on.

Carol Nash see a stage 1 and stage 2 as something that Harley riders just do and do not charge extra for it. I can also vouch for the breakdown service (unfortunately had to use it a couple of time for flat tyres etc) they run as part of the premium (not extra like some do) which also covers for European.

The actual cover you get, apart from being cost effective, is very comparable to other insurers - so good all round.

Cheers, Roy

Re: Insurance Advice

Cheers All.
Used Carol Nash for the last 3 years, since I got back on bikes. I have all 5 of my bikes under 1 policy and still only around £300. Well you can only ride one at a time and as most of mine are old the mileage is never going to be high. I've used the breakdown cover once, Fazer shed it's from sprocket!

Re: Insurance Advice

The only issue I have with Bennetts and Carole Nash is that they wouldn't do an "Agreed Value" policy.
If the unthinkable occurs and you've got two grands worth of extras on an almost new machine, "Market Value" ain't gonna cut muster is it??
When I queried the "Market Value" concept with the guy at Bennetts, he told me not to worry, cos if I made a claim an assessor would come and inspect the bike and value it with the extras taken into account.

"That's great", said I, "But if it's gone walkabout, how the hell's he gonna do that??

They have no system in place to predetermine value.
HD insurance have you get a dealer to stamp an "Agreed Value" form which you send to them along with two photos.
Adrian Flux, on the other hand, agree a value with you for the first year, based on the accessories you inform them of at policy inception.
At renewal, they too ask for photographs.
Don't know why they do it that way but at least you're getting the cover you need to replace "like for like".
They have quoted me almost £100 less than my HD Insurance Services renewal price this year.
Cover is almost identical but XS is £50 more at £300.
An extra bonus is that I can insure my 1000cc Kwak bobber for £40 extra - same cover applies, Fully Comp with protected NCD.

Deuce
