Drag Specialties Speedo

Have a DS mini speedo with the idiot light built in.

The back light aint working and I notice a couple of broken wires (maybe thats why it aint workin).

Thing is, how do I get in to the unit? There are 2 threaded studs with 2 nuts one atop the other. I had expected the back to slide off once nuts undone but nope! There is also 4 screws on the back.

Dont want to use brute force in case I do any more damage.

How should it come apart?

FFS!!!!

The body of the speedo is retained in place by the edge of the top ring which is turned over the edge speedo body!!

Only way to get in to it is to lift the lip and run the risk of distorting the top ring!

There is one on ebay, about £9 at the mo, listed as a Harley item, might be worth ditching yours.

Thanks Dave,

Dunno if I want another one, only had this one a few months when the backlight went! Expected more from a 70 quid item

An ordinary mini speedo will do me this time.

Now on the lookout for a bracket of some sort to house my idiot lights.
