Sixteen years on, reunited with an old friend....

Back in 1992 I purchased a Dyna Glide custom (my second Harley) a one year model which only 3019 were made from the now long gone local HD dealer in Southport. A nice bike and an enormous contrast to the UltraClassic I had just sold.

In 1993 the bike was amongst 26 crated up and shipped to Baltimore to ride to the 90th Reunion celebrations in Milwaukee and then on to the mid west and back again. Three great weeks of riding across the US and having fun making new life long friends along the way. I parted company with the bike that year, lusting after the new Roadking.

Well a couple of weeks ago in HD Stockport I saw a Dyna just like mine for sale, the reg no. looked familar and the bike was registered by HD Southport, there were no documents available, it had only just gone up for sale and was owned by an employee of the dealership.

Back home I dug out my old pictures and there was the reg no. it was my old bike. I did a deal on the phone subject to a ride the next day and needless to say the deal was completed, the wife was totally insistant. All the paperwork was there including the original sales invoice in my name, so I picked it up a few days later and now its back home. It been modified slightly and with forward controls is an absolute blast especially when compared to how I remember it in more standard trim back in 92/3.

Its in good company these days

I have to split my time equally between them, I dont want any in fighting for my attention. It's a marked contrast in riding styles of both bikes and good fun jumping from one bike to the other. And the misses approves!

all the best
regards
John
