How Much!

Was thinking about trading my 92 FXRS, 35000 miles, for something a bit newer and came across a black 2008 Street Bob with 770 miles on it at Chester HD. Looking at the website this bike is now sold, think the ticket was about £8000

Emailed they guy and told him what I had and enclosed a pic. Just received his response and offer of £3000-£3500 (subject to viewing) for mine

He said maybe he could offer a bit more if he hawked it round the traders and, even better, if I could bring it down to his showroom for a few hours.

£3500! That'll be right!! This bike is worth lots more to me than that (and I dont just mean the £3000 of extras)

thats dealers for you !!!! my FXR is a 91 so it'll be worth less than yours sell it privately you will get a bit more .

To be honest I dont know if I'm that eager to trade. I've had the bike for 5 years and just thought something a bit newer might be nice.

Just got an email from the dealership saying they were receiving enquiries from foreign traders who are on the lookout for pre 2000 bikes. Suggested I stick it on Ebay at £5500 and see what happens.

Credit where its due - It was good of the guy to come back to me with some constructive advice.

Sell it on the continent, every week I go to our local dealer there are foreign vans buying bikes, today it was a German buying a new Road King, I also saw the 2 guys in the shop buying clothes...to them our prices are a steal...
