Harley might attract motorcycle enthusiasts with that but they don't buy new bikes every year.

New models means new bolt-on shineys means new business. It's getting a bit like the Japs where stuff from one year won't fit the next.

Re: 2010 Bikes

I'l be sticking with my '90 Fatboy and '92 Dyna and be looking long and hard for an early springer.

I like the trikes, as you get older some of us may benefit from that extra wheel, give it a few years and one of those will find its way into the garage.

Harley must be struggling to meet the ongoing legisation it can only be a matter of time before they have to give up the fight with air cooled engines, and just like Porsche hopefully enter into a new era of watercooled engines.

Whether or not the the diehards will buy them doesn't seem to matter they are getting new converts every year buying into a life style.

The bikes are still reasonably priced when compare to nearly 20 years ago my first Harley in 1990 was an Ultraclassic which after discount was £10500, my 92 Dyna was £9389 before accessories,my 94 RoadKing was £11005 before accessories, that was when money really meant something and thats before you junked everything to make it go and stop properly.

ride safe
regards
John

Unhappy Re: 2010 Bikes

It looks as though they're making some serious cutbacks over there, and it shows with the 2010 range !

Not only have they dropped the Road King Standard, there isn't a single "FXST" model in the Softail range now that both the Night Train and Custom have been dropped.

Interestingly - we in the UK will still be able to get the Electraglide Standard whereas it's been dropped from the US.

Also - noticed that the range of colours available has been reduced with no two-tone options on some models.

Perhaps next year we'll have more choice ..........
