| Re: do's and don'ts of selling a bike Ebay fees: To list, as an auction, £8, plus extras As BIN, £8 As Classified, ie fixed price, like a mag ad, £12.99 Final Value Fees, (not applicable to Classified) Up to £1999, £20.00 £1999 to £3499, 1% £3499 and over, £35 PayPal, varies but as an example, £1500 to £6000, 2.9% But nobody should pay for, or accept payment for, any vehicle via PayPal; although there can be no clawback, why would someone buy a car/bike without seeing and trying it and paying with cash? Even paying a deposit is risky for the buyer, especially if he hasn't even seen the bike and lives miles away, then again the seller risks thinking the bike is sold only to never again hear from the 'buyer' if there is no deposit paid. In the end, treat it like you would an old-fashioned advert, ie 'see and buy'. Cheers, Pete

| Re: do's and don'ts of selling a bike Quote:
BUT - from a buyer's point of view, would you buy a bike at, say, a service station with no proof that the seller actually owned the bike other than a possibly forged V5C? You could always tell the buyer that the bike is normally garaged at your parent's/sister's/mate's house but you've brought it round so that he can know that you are who you say you are and can be located in case of queries about ownership etc. Cheers, Pete
