bust a clutch cable

When I first got me bike I noticed that the air fork adjuster pipes had been changed, even though it had only done 2,000 miles it seems that it may have had to have some work done on it,in fact it also had a pinched oil pipe that was later to stop the flow causing collapsed cam bearings.

Anyway it was also the case that the clutch cable was incorrectly routed, I didnt bother re-routing it as it worked ok.

Over the last few weeks it has got a bit stiff (the clutch cable that is) and yesterday as I was riding past the Lamb inn I pulled the clutch to hear it snap, managed to slip it into neutral and pulled over. Right enough it had snapped at the leaver end.

Gave MAG breakdown service a ring and was home within an hour or so (managed to get a quickie in at the lamb, and the Landlord helped push the bike onto the flatbed).

Steelnett offered help but I was OK (cheers mate).

Phoned Harley DG20.....new cable please..... 97 evo Roadking....

Howmuch

er yes mate thats £64 quid, just got one in stock...

will pick it up todayand have it fitted for Sunday, hopefully....

Re: bust a clutch cable

Wernt you guys were in Mexico?... I broke down less than 10 miles from your place and just thought to myself 'typical when you two were away I need a part you probably keep in stock' in fact when I phoned steelnett whilst at the side of the road I mentioned the fact that you were away.

Next time I bust a cable or something I will phoine.

hope you had a good time anyway

Re: bust a clutch cable

Hi Mike

We didn't leave until close of business on Saturday.

Sorry to hear about it. Anyway I think we will leave an "emergeny number" in future. £64, robbing bastards.

Our daughter was home and she could have easily sorted you out.
