| Tyred and emotional
For those that have been following the saga of my rear tyre, hopefully all is now sorted. It goes something like this. Venom whitewalls were fitted before Xmas and I was very happy with the improvement in handling. About three weeks ago I took the bags off in order to fit a rack and noticed that on the left side, the widest part of the tyre had been rubbing very slightly on the inside of the mudguard. I'm not sure if it had just happened or what I was seeing was a gradual build up over time. It only seemed to rub when the suspension was compressed (on bumpy roads etc). Phil at Fatboyzdiner who supplied the tyres, contacted Avon's tech department who told him that the only thing they could suggest was that I had a rogue tyre which was bigger than it should have been, and to measure the tyre which should be 157mm wide. We duly measured it and surprise surprise the tyre was 163mm wide. Phil got back on to Avon and fair play to them, they have supplied a new tyre. The tyre is now on the bike and the clearance under the mudguard is back to what it should be. A big thank you to Phil and Karen at Fatboyzdiner, and a big thank you to all you others who took an interest and offered opinions, help, advice, tools, use of facilities, a night with your wife etc, and also it's hats off to Avon for their quick and fair response. The Rooster is ready to rock again
