Dyno tuners in this area?

Hi Does anyone know anywhere reputable who could dyno tune my 2006 streetbob (with stage 1, inc V&H fuelpack)? I live in Cirencester, dont mind a ride though. In fact, see it as an advantage. Was looking at HogDocs in Manchester, however if there was somewhere more local wouldnt mind knowing. Appreciate any help .. Oh yes, and hello. I plan to pop along for one of the monthly meetings soonish, just need to get through an imminent house move. Cheers, Roy

Re: Dyno tuners in this area?

Dear both, thanks for your replies. Simon, thanks - Ill check em out. Tee, thanks for your reply, I would have agreed with you however as I have begun to understand .. V&H provides some settings for a configuration (bike, year, pipes, does it have high flow air filter etc) and come up with some general settings that should be okay for every type of air filter etc. My bike runs rich. This is *probably* because the S&S does not allow the same amount of air in as a big sucker or Kuraykan air filter. I did ask V&H for some advice and they threw me some modified seting to "lean it up a bit", however Im not convinced. My bike is still running rich, while also running hot. So I have gone back to the standard settings. It seems I am not alone from one of the TC88 tech forums. So I think the only recourse before I start thinking about going to a PCIII, SERTs, downloads etc is to make sure what I have is set up right. Hence the dyno. Feeling around in the dark a bit on this one, however I do know when it comes to EFI, if anyone is going to sort out the problem or tell you where you need to improve stuff .. its a dyno engineer. They are a breed apart and a very valued member of this planet ;-) I ramble .... and rant sometimes too ... look forward to meeting you both soon.

Re: Dyno tuners in this area?

As a conclusion ...

I bought my PCIII, fitted it with a supplied map and it ran a lot better than the FP. Actually felt like a harley again.

Was still running rich (smog on exhaust system), so took it to Race Developments in Gloucester who sorted me out with a full tune. Funny to see your harley doing 110mph on a rolling road. Anyway, standard PCIII map had the bike running rich up to 8% throttle and good thereafter, now is running right.

Life is good, if not a tad cold ... all I need now is a decent front light, I have a candlepower on its way, harley front lights are so crap after 5pm ...

Anyway, sure that was an exciting update ;-) Thanks for those who responded

Re: Dyno tuners in this area?

Hi, have just had Tim Blakemoor racing in Bristol dyno & custom map my 2002 Road King Classic, we found the original setup carried out by Riders (who installed the Power commander III along with the 'Stage one' filter & pipes) had nil map so really it was doing nothing, through out the rev range it was running VERY lean (which would account for the high temps) anyway, it started out with 67 HP & now has 74 HP & it's like driving a new bike! It's very smooth across the rev range (& hang on when you open the throttle!) so, money well spent I think. I'm not looking for a racing machine but when the bike cost this much it's worth having it set up right, saves holes in pistons etc!

Re: Dyno tuners in this area?

2nd that, Race Developments did me a treat.

Gotta say, I found just replacing the FP with a PCIII was a step up on its own. Then getting it dynoed, meant it ran better in the lower rev ranges (tickovers much better, which is money well spent on its own ) and the big shots don't soot up.

Glad you got your ride sorted. Didn't take to Riders myself, good for a test ride though.

Gonna have to pop down the dirty donkey or wherver it is you all meet. Good to see your still riding in the colder months.
