Our Next Meet

I have yet to get a reply from Roger, but it seems our previous "Meet" thread got eaten by the system - possibly due to its size ......

As the previous Thread Creator, I felt obliged to start up a new one here ....

Re: Our Next Meet

With regard to our "Next Meet", I don't know about anyone else but as winter draws closer the attractiveness of the Kinky Donkey wains. It's great in the Summer months but crap in the winter.

The access roads from both directions are crap and compounding this with winter weather and light levels we will see a fall off in attendance.

What I'm suggesting is a winter venue, somewhere with easier (better?) access closer to civilisation.

As an idea we could ask Tony and Ann if we could use their Pub (seeing as they are members)

What say you?

Re: Our Next Meet

I agree with Trev, better to have a vote. If we change the WC second meeting place there will be two recent venue changes in the region, could lead to a little confusion

You on commission Phil

Reason I mentioned it now is that next Wednesday is the local meeting when we can all discuss this and have a vote. We all will be there won't we??

Re: Our Next Meet

It's something to talk about next Wednesday, but here's a few thoughts that occured to me as to why we should maybe stay there.

1) Agreed the roads are crap, but judging by last winter, there won't be many peeps coming by bike for a while and surely there's no problem with those country lanes if you're in a car with a heated windscreen, 60watt halogen lights etc etc.....
(Last month there was only 3 bikes and only mine was a Harley)

2) People know that we meet there. I was talking about us to another Harley rider in a gas station and he said "is that the lot that meet at the K.D. ? Must come up there sometime"

3) I just submitted an article for the next 'Quin noting that the Bristol meet has changed but that we are still at the KD

4) It's nice pub with good beer and decent food and they've made us very welcome.

Sorry to bang on a bit, but I'm quite keen to stay with K.D.

See you all Wednesday
