Re: Roskilde, Denmark

wrong club for me, I did a few of their rallies in the past, couldn't get through the gate due to the trailers.

On their Italian rally bikes were being delivered to their owners off the back of flatbeds that had collected them from all over europe.

I had a good time but most seemed to be trying to be something they wernt.

Have a good time Roy anyhow.

Re: Roskilde, Denmark

1547.1 miles later and I'm back. Harley Days was really good.

TRavelled overnight on Thurs to the Hook and then up thru Holland, Germany and into Denmark on the Friday. My way up (625 miles) was all the way through Holland, Germany and Denmark (same sort of route as the Super-rally back in May) and then across towards Copenhagen which took in the Store Baelt Bridge over to the island where Copenhagen exists. Way back went down to "Rody" and took a Ferry to Putgarten and then back through Germany and Holland, which cut off about a 150 miles and generally made life a bit easier on the butt.

The actual event was good. Further developed some friendships with a Harley Club from Copenhagen I met in a dunken stuper on the last night of the SuperRally. Good bands, met some great people. Top time.

Win a Harley competition was a Streetbob, which was won by a Swede who'd been saving up for a Harley so that was good.

Overlooked taking many photos so have none to post. Just the usual pictures of 45's and Panheads which I posted for the SuperRally

Stuff I learnt?
1) Danish for cheers is Schkol ...
2) Danes have to pay 180% tax on a Harley (even a 2nd hand one), so that makes their getting a HD even more expensive than over here.
3) My streetbob does 167.3 miles on a full tank of petrol before it runs out .. this time, 500 metres before a petrol station in Germany. SO lucky.
4) Riding into a headwind with 16" apes, is knackering!
5) Mustang seats are no good for long trips. Although they look a lot better than my sundowner, (which was a more comfortable seat).
6) I need to change my V&H big shots while I have at least some hearing left! Could not hear a thing when I got to sight, even with a full face and ear plugs.

Thats it, my report. Roll on Finland.

Cheers, Roy
