Re: Warbird's Road King Classic for sale

Thanks for all the support guys, The thing is I'm diabetic type 2 but I now have to inject insulin 4 times a day as the pills don't work any more! My legs are not what they used to be & I have had the occasional glitch with balance which on a Road King may not be what I want! I’m thinking quit the bike now on a high instead of falling off at a later date which would be no use to anyone. I have noticed of late that my riding has been sometimes like a learner (I know, some would say I’ve always ridden like that! ) anyway, that’s the reason nothing else………….. So, get out there & find someone who wants to pay an extortionate amount of money for my bike!
Cheers for all the concern & I know there are folk out there who are also diabetic & have no problems It's just over the past 5 years I’ve never really got on top of it, mostly I expect due to me rather than anything else!

Point the bike at a distant object the full throttle in case you fell off....

Mr Warbird

Sorry to hear your news, however feel your making a wise decision m8. If your health is not up to it, then a painful decision may help avoid putting yourself in a lot of pain if you fall off. Can imagine it wasn't an easy decision.

Have you considered the trike idea?

Anyway, hope to see you at the xmas bash and hope you have an excellent xmas.

Take care dude

Cheers, Roy

Re: Warbird's Road King Classic for sale

Warbird, don't be too hasty to sell! I personally have had type 1 diabetes since 1992. I am now also on oral meds asnd suffer from other illnesses. I know what youre saying and exactly how you feel and how it can zap your confidence in your riding ability and general energy and attitude to life.I find however that when you get on the bike and go for a ride its the best feeling in the world. The whole thing, riding in the fresh air and meeting up with people of a like mind really lifts the spirits and your well being in general. I've sold bikes in the past when feeling as you are just now....and regretted it.

My tonic having just retired? I'm looking to buy my first Harley either a Fatboy or RKC!

Apologies to moderators for not introducing myself as a new member through the usual noobie section but I felt I had to post you on this matter to get you back on that bike and onto the road to health. Very best of luck. DON'T SELL IT.
