Denmark Rally - June

When we went to the SuperRally last year, I met the Harley Club from Denmark and have since stayed in touch etc. Go me eh

Its near Roskilde, which is just outside of Copenhagen. Same sort of area as Scandanavia Harley Days last year. I will be travelling Harwich to the Hook and then riding up - mainland all the way there (means you take in the bridge which I can never remember the name off, mind you I never knew the name of it to start with so on a hiding to nothing with that one ) and then take the ferry over to Germany on the way back.

I've been thinking about doing the same thing Roy but going the Harley Davidson Sailing Club route from Harwich to Esbjerg. Which ever way, I am interested so long as I'm not overseas with work.

If I do the sailing club route, it will need to be for longer but will allow me to do some visiting but I'm undecided right now. I might just tag along with you via the Hook of Holland. If you want to meet up along the Fosse way somewhere like at Stow on the Wold or Morten in the Marsh at the weekend let me know.

It was a great rally, lot of riding with going over on the friday and coming back on the sunday - well worth it, even after covering just over 1600 miles in 4 days (2 days of riding mostly).

I was awarded longest ride there (http://hdcsj.dk/foto/album/2009/10c..../IMG_2299.html) the chap next to me was the 'keeper' who the HDC negotaited the rally with - he had been taught site management in Cirencester, lived in Bournemouth (not far from where I was born) but was born literally around the corner from where my wife, Davona, was born in Inverness. Small world.

Anyway, this is to be a regular event. The same site is booked for next year - if you fancy it, I'll post nearer the time. You can either come with me for the long way around (via the hook) or go with Oilslick on the Harley ferry (Esberg)

Great rally that was.

Only got three half decent pics.

Last two pics are of the Spinning Wheels MC Clubhouse in Skive, Jutland where I stopped after the rally. I slept under the bar.
