back to Bridgewater chapter there old director Dave ? was and is a very friendly chap as to the new director i haven't meet him yet, but i think some times it just takes a few friendly words to brake the ice and most bike riders (power rangers inc) are O.K. i have never had a problem with over riders , being 6feet 4in and 18 stone may help!!! john

The Old Bridgewater Boss, Dave Holden, is the new Director of the Plymouth HOG Chapter. Brought out of retirement by the Mo Co, by whom he was almost employed as a promoter of HOG. Not the nicest guy in the world and not one of my favourite persons. Gill Mog was his deputy at Bridgwater for years. I was a HOG member for a few years but not any more, but some of my best mates were also members and they were some of the good guys. Don't forget that not all HDRCGB members are always the good guys. There are good and bad in any club.

| Re: Hoggies
I really liked our local HOG chapter apart from when they were moaning at me for not keeping up on ride outs So we stopped going on the ride outs. Meetings were ok but very MoCo loyal, although the local dealer was giving discount on parts, clothes and servicing to Chapter members and I still benefit from that today.Me and Linda have had some great times with our local HOG and met some really brilliant people. But we have had even better times with this club and to be honest the people we have met in our region, and at rallys (especially those from Essex) have been some of the nicest, honest, and real bikers I have ever met in all my 30 + years of on and off riding a motorcycle. HOG chapters do some great stuff, the Ride to the Wall being just one of many. Bikers come in all shapes and sizes and with different attitudes and values. Me? I nod or wave to anyone on two wheels, the wave is more extatic if they are riding a Harley, some wave back, some don't. When they don't I shrug and Linda clamps her legs around my thighs to say it's OK. When they wave back Linda clamps her legs around my thighs to say great. Win Win I say ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() .Please dont be too down on HOG members, many of them are really brilliant people who love these heavy, loud, clanky, unrealiable, beautiful machines as much as the riders in this club. Yes they are the sanatised version of the 1% er or outlaw biker, back patch club, whatever. HOG was a very good idea that probably saved the company in the bad old AMF days, and enabled guys like me to own a Harley in the 21st century. Many HOG members (like us) will drift towards the Riders Club because it represents a far more basic roots level of HD enthusiasm and ownership. I for one love engaging with those of you who have such a wealth of knowledge about Harleys old and new. Not just that, you guys know how to party big time .Some HOG members will wave or nod as we ride past, some don't, some back patch riders acknowledge us and some don't, many sport bike riders will nod back (in their way) and some on scooters and mopeds are so shocked that some guy on a F*ck off gorgeous Harley just acknowledged them, that its to late to reply before we have roared past. Bikers all, are a great breed, not least because we are all just one tiny mistake from instant death at any time, but also because mostly other bikers are friendly and aimiable, and make you feel you belong to something very worthwhile and inherently good. (please excuse the spelling its the Bells, I am better on JD) Night you guys

| Re: Hoggies
well i'm a member of both clubs and in me first year of shiney hog ownership. me and the boss went to the hog meet and found it difficult to engage anyone in eye contact let alone a chat. Went to the local hdrcbg meet and got the opposite reaction However, the local hog club is quite large (in every sense) and therefore less likely to be open and welcoming. So i'm going on the hog ride out this sunday to give em another chance to be friendly. not sure about the badge thing tho!
