I was planning to start a new thread and post a few things as we travel (subject to finding internet cafes of course) Might as well use this thread.

A postcard from America

Howdy y'all

San Francisco was even better than we were expecting, the weather has been really hot all the time despite the forecasters saying it was going to be cool and cloudy. It's nice to know that they are as useless as our forecasters. Sat on the dock of the bay and sank a cold one. Brilliant !
We stayed 2 days in Monterey and ate all the clam chowder in town. The hotel had a happy hour with free drinks from 5.30 to 7.30 so we went round several times and took it up to the room and got nicely hammered for free. Today we drove down to San Simeon over the Big Sur. I don't think I've ever been on a road with better views. All the time I was wishing I was on the bike and not in a cage.
Tomorrow we're off to Pismo Beach and more clam chowder
