Re: Faro 2010

Me and Lisa did Faro for the second time this year and its a great trip. We go over on the tunnel and ride through France and Spain and the same on the way back. I would recomend getting there on the Wednesday so you stand the chance of getting some shade to put your tent in. Also the ground is covered in thorns so you need a good thick groung sheet to stop punctures in your air bed. They sell cheap beach mats in the local supermarkets that do the job nicely . The only other thing you need to be ready for is the heat . If you want details of the route and campsites I use send me a PM.

Re: Faro 2010

Hi I have also done Faro a number of times and if this is your first you may like to have a look at Back Street Heroes. Bit of a cluster but they do take care of ferries, all your camp sites, have lots of experience and a back up truck which hopefully you wont need but its nice to know its there. its also handy as you will be riding with like minded people who speak English after a fashion. If you are a bit of a lone wolf and want to do your own thing I can bore you to death with alternate routes, places to stay / visit both on the journey and once at Faro.

Re: Faro 2010

The beach is about 40 mins walk but most people ride and there is a car park there which gets packed with bikes. Good place to waste a few hours with a cold beer. The rally is like most others as it has stalls, bands ,BEER,and a good custom show. The thing that makes Faro differant is the atmosphere and the bizare things that you only see at Faro. Check out the Faro club website for all the info you should need and photos. It is still a cheap rally compared with something like the Bulldog bash but exchange rate has arsed it up a bit.
