Talking East Yorks: Fish n chips & a pint by the river.

Hi all! Been riding my Sportster a week now.....bedding in nicely. On Wednesday night (23rd) I fancy fish n chips at Johnny Haddocks in Newport....followed by a decent pint of ale at The Hope & Anchor....down by the river at Blacktoft (behind Gilberdyke).......I shall roll up at the chippie at 7-30......any other Harley owners are welcome......it will be good to see you, cheers! Iain (Naxos)

Out on the bike tomorrow. Don't know how far I will get or where but you have given me an idea. If I make it will see you.

aaahh what a shame. I am due to attend a pissup tomorrow evening otherwise would probably definately have joined you.

I'm sure the evening will be fun though. Seeing a mate havent seen in a while and a host of collegues will be there as well.

I have just been for a quick spin to Weatherby and back (York) on the B1224 - *very* nice road - not particularly challenging but nice smooth curves for the most part. Yesterday the missus and I went to The Squires Cafe. Again a nice spin, but somewhat chilly...

Nice one, by the way, on becomming one of Us Harley owners

later

Re: East Yorks: Fish n chips & a pint by the river.

Thanks for a very pleasant evening that had also given me the impetus to get on the Sportster and have a good days ride out. By the time I got home I had done 265 miles. These modern Sportsters are very capable of serious touring in my view although my main aim in buying one was for the back roads. I enjoyed both the chip shop and the pub. Sat on the river bank side on a sunny evening with a pint of real ale takes some beating. If you get the chance have a look at a map and pick a spot for a meeting. Maybe Skipton or Slaidburn. Your new bike will love it.
