Smile Re: End of thether

Hi all,

Over the last couple of days I have been trying to find somewhere that will test my voltage reg. I looked at auto electricains on Yell.com. The only ones coming up where for cars. I rang a few of these and as soon as said the reg was off a motorcycle, 'oh no we can't do that'.

Does anyone know where I can get a test done? I rang Thunder City today, they said they can do it but they need the whole bike to test the reg.

Could someone tell me why when testing the charging circuitry of a reg you need the whole bike?

The battery does not drain when stood, so this tells me that that part of the reg is working. If testing for charge using the whole bike, wouldn't that just be a case of putting a multimeter on the battery terminals and reving the engine to see if the voltage increases, or am I missing something?

This is a new Accel reg. They come with a life time warranty, has anybody ever sent one back to them?

Inregards to the low oil pressure I was told I had, when the bike was running before I got it back, the oil pressure light came on when engine was ticking over. A little pip of the throttle and the light went out, then on again at idle. Should I be concerned?

Thanks in advance,

Iron Andy.

I think you will do better with this thread in one of the technical sections mate , depending on what bike it is put it in the relevant section and you'll be open to a lot more input. All the best.
