Re: small number plates

There was an item on BBC's teletext about N Yorks Police targetting what it stated as 'irresponsible' motorcyclists.
Crackdown areas for the summer incude the A65 and known biker hotspots. So for that, read most of the popular roads and Devils Bridge, Hawes etc.

Just had my MOT and was failed for a US sized number plate. Got a VOSA sized plate complete with maker and BS, (didn't need that cos of age of bike, but don't need the hassle). Pipes still not a problem, but I'm sure like most things, it'll be a matter of time. Got to bail out the banks and bankers somehow, so I'm sure beaurocratic fines will help the poor little dears.

Re: small number plates

Hmmm...my Road King failed it's MOT last week on a small plate; I asked the tester where I could possibly fit a correctly sized plate, due to the carrier, pannier rails and rear light arrangement - got sold a std plate to get the ticket, along with instructions to fit it asap. So now I'm carrying the plate in a pannier so that if Mr Plod stops me I can ask ask him where he would like me to put it (!).
Cheers,
Pete

Re: small number plates

My question probably could have been better phrased.
What I meant to ask, is were the bikes that got ticketed Harleys?
It's just that my experience is that sperts bikes will get done for loud exhausts and small No. plates whilst Harleys will be ignored.
Just wondered if this has changed.
