Steady leisurely rides out

Hi

I risk sounding really sad here but sometimes it's no fun riding alone. I own a 883 Custom Sporty and live a few hundred yards from T.H.S (The Harley Shop) Castleford, west Yorks. I have not had the bike long and I'm still building confidence after a sports bike accident. In a way the accident was a blessing in disguise. I adore the bike and can never get enough of the sound of the V&H pipes!! The bike also suits my riding style more than the sports bike before it.

I though it worth posting this message in case there were others like me in this area who love riding their Harley but know no other Harley riders to go on rides or even evens with or are looking for more friends on rides out. I'm not looking for pitty (lol) just riders in this area similar to myself. I am very lucky work wise, I have every Saturday, Sunday and Monday off, so from Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon I'm free if anyone fancies a ride out anywhere. Maybe someone with similar skills to me (I'm not that bad ) or does not mind a steadier ride would suit me more. I'm not being picky, just honest.

Here's my pride and joy bought from a Member of this club who loved and cherished her but wanted (and bought) a big twin. Me finding and owning this bike is proof that the superb classifieds section on this site works!

Regards
Hills

P.s. I will join this club when I have the cash but after the money I've just spent on the bike and kit she would kill me if I don't wait a while.

Hills, I think you have answered your own question. There are guys n gals in the same position as you but what you need to do is join the club, get to a few meetings and meet people.
You'll soon be in the know of what's going on.

Re: Steady leisurely rides out

Of course you are right Bilbo,it's the going alone and trying to fit in when everyone else knows others and each other and I know no one that puts me off. I'm sorry if I am trying to compare this club to chapters but that's all I have to go off at the moment having never met anyone from this club. Its always nice to ride to these meeting with someone else, call it a confidence thing.

Thanks for the reply though and you are right.

Re: Steady leisurely rides out

Eh Up Hills,

No problem, I, like you ride alone, (mostly through choice) but don't mind going on a ride-out. I have a bad habit of having lunch in Slaidburn at the Hark to Bounty or a lazy ride to the East coast.
Watch this section cos we do ride-outs to meet the Lakes and NE members.
Maggar, arranges very picturesque rides towards the east of Yorks, easy to get to from Cas as some start from A19 just outside York.

Also, every first Tuesday of the month, i.e. tomorrow there is a meet at the Hunters Inn on the Pool in Wharfedale to Harrogate road, details at top of Yorkshire section. It's not just members that turn up, everyone is welcome. (One day I may get there, but work away a bit)

Re: Steady leisurely rides out

Eyup Tones, thanks for the reply. A lazy ride to the east coast sounds just the ticket. I would not want to interfere with your ride if you do ride alone (if that makes any sense at all) but if ever you fancy one tagging along, I'd love that.

I'll have to get down to the Hunters Inn one Tuesday but I have to be up for work very early so not an ideal day. I'll have to make one in one day though just to get to know a few of you.

Thanks again for the kind reply - If ever you're riding near this area please drop me a message.

Thanks a lot mate

The new iron looks the biz mate, I've not rode one yet but I'm sure it will ride as well as it looks.
