Saturday 8th August - Banks and Beaches Ride
For anyone interested in tagging along I'm doing a ride on Saturday (weather is "forecast" to be sunny - so bring your wet gear!).

Intended route (always subject to alterations, diversions etc.) will be meet at Crockey Hill Cafe on the A19 south of York at 10.30am

Usual route via back lanes to Pocklington, Huggate, Wetwang to Fimber Cafe (in the woods). Cup of tea.

From there to Malton, through Hovingham to Helmsley and on to Chop Gate (pronounced Chop Yatt) and over the moors to Carlton Bank and the Lord Stones Cafe for a pie & a pint


Then from there down to Great Ayton, past Roseberry Topping and Guisborough and up over the moors to Scaling Dam and on to Runswick Bay for a paddle, a pie and a pint!

Down to Whitby then back via the A169 and an ice cream at the Hole of Horcum, over to Pickering back across to Helmsley and back to York via Wass, Bylands, Stillington etc. for a pint at the Kings Arms on the river in York.

If your last ride was owt to go by - I'll be there.
Is Chromer coming - I've got his mobile, if not please PM yours & I'll ring you at 10.30 if I can't make it.

Where's the cafe - it's not one I know.
