What does Andy Hornsby know? He is only a club member....LOL

Or was it an advert from the organisers?

No offence taken but it's a bit like walking into Morrisons and shouting where's Asda?

In the diary at the back.

Maybe, but it seems to have been treated as a legitimate question on the pages for the other regions - not everyone can make Walesby for whatever reason.

Re: Shipley Rally - August Bank Holiday

Missing Shipley this year due to a prior commitment with an airfield. Should still be a good turnout on the ride to Harewood House though.

Enjoy it those that go.

Re: Shipley Rally - August Bank Holiday

Why would anyone from this club not want to support our 60th Anniversary Rally if they can make it.

You will be able to do both rallies as of next year anyway, so support your club

THIS club that you are a guest of on this site is 60 years old this year and the OLDEST continually run club in Europe.

WE started the Shipley Rally 30 years ago and held OUR last one their in 2003 as we only allowed Harleys and Indians and the site (not the present one) could not cope with the large numbers.

We are now moving around the country for our yearly International rally this year being in Nottingham, next year The Lake district.

The local traders and a bike group took over the Shipley name and started running their new rally in 2004 at the present site. And as a lot of our members still like to go there we are from next year changing OUR dates so our members can do both.

Here endith the lesson.

BTW our club have been partying and rallying for 60 years.
Nicely put Baza, was going to reply m'self but wouldn't have been so diplomatic. Will never go to Shipley, I can remember the shit that flew about when the breakaway started.

The independent spirit of motorcycling is a lot older than even our venerable old club.

Ride where you want - don't be told what you should and shouldn't do.

I agree, but if you put a post on our club forum to attend another rally that clashes with our 60th Anniversary rally, then expect some loyal replies.

No one has gone onto the Shipley Rally web site and posted "Who's going to Walesby then ?", I am sure that if they had, they would have been told to Ferk off in no uncertain terms.
