    Re: 45 Rebuild

I wanted to complete the bike as civilianised and an option of running as a bobber. Needed to find a decent rear mud guard and fixing bracket.

The rear mudguard was from low brow, Think it was the one in the link below.

    https://www.lowbrowcustoms.com/lowbr...nch-width.html

Mud guard cut down and positioned ready for the brackets to be mounted. A few plastic packers are taped on the tyre until I got the right clearance. Then taped the mudguard down.

There are no fixing brackets or fixings with the guard. The picture below is of the bracket that was made and welded on. This fixing location takes both mud guard and battery bracket.

A pity, because it's bloody nice and I think would suit it well.

Nice to see you back on here Gary!

    With you there Kev.
Not usually a fan of green bikes (it's a salad thing!) but I do really like that, period correct or not.

A word of caution when gapping the fender to the tyre, close is uber cool but remember to make allowance for centrifugal growth. Back in my NCC days I managed to recut the tread on my 6T chop with protruding nuts once over 50mph.

Thanks Kev, good to start posting again.

I'm hoping when you see the colour scheme now, you will like it has much as I do.

Its a cracker and so different than the blue and white one I completed 6 years ago. When I first joined the club and you and the guys helped me get it done.

    Re: 45 Rebuild

The mud guard struts were bought from Low Brow ( link below ). I thought these were a good price. I know its only stainless bar and end caps etc. But time you tried to fabricate anything like them you'd be way over their costs to buy.

Tacked on only whilst we got the set up right.

Just the right look. Your right about the clearance and potential issues. It looks closer from the side view and as a little more clearance when viewed from the back.

    Re: 45 Rebuild

Got the mud guard all sorted. And will start putting back together.

Needed to sort the number plate holder and rear light . Number plate holder temporary set up with a couple of bolts before being welded.

Spent months looking for a rear light that I liked. Tried for a few second hand ones from the states, but all proved to be silly money. Ended up settling, with a reproduction Model A 1938 blacked out light.

Hmm don't know why but my pictures have turned 90 deg and unsure how to correct it. You will have to turn your head to the left

The Mercedes is an MV Agusta F3 800 RC
